COLD DAYS!!! ... TIME FOR AN EFFICIENT HEATING SYSTEM

At the risk of stating the obvious, it's cold outside! While almost all of us have our heaters cranked up, the winter weather varies dramatically and with it the demand on our heating systems to maintain occupant comfort. Heating systems are designed for a specific low temperature which will not be exceeded 99% of the time.

While we appreciate the ability to adequately heat our buildings when its -40F, the graph on the left shows that a boiler is only used at 80-100% capacity for 8 of 193 heating days per season. For the other 185 days, having a modulating heating plant will save you a lot of money without compromising comfort. If you don't have a modulating heating system or modulating controls, give SEDAC a call at (800) 214-7954 and let us help you! [Full Story]

SPOTLIGHT: BERWYN PARK DISTRICT

The Liberty Cultural Center  had a SEDAC Energy Assessment done in 2009 and was able to utilize DCEO rebates to implement LED stage and exist lights, a high efficiency boiler and T8 high bay lighting among many efficiency measures.

The interior projects will save the Park District over $11,000 a year in energy costs with a 4.6 year pay back. Park District Director Jeffrey Janda mentioned "We could not have done these projects without funding from these grants. We really appreciate SEDAC's services and DCEO's funding." [Full Story]
