SEDAC maintains a list of pre-qualified Design Assistance Experts who serve SEDAC clients as well as offer technical and design assistance to the Project Team staff on an as-needed basis. These experts review bid documents, complete or review life cycle cost analyses, and provide assistance with a variety of design and other project documents. Design Assistance Experts may be asked to provide training and technical assistance to the customer representative, including architects, engineers, and contractors. These services are provided through the DCEO Energy Efficiency Portfolio Standard (EEPS) program.

Pre-qualified Design Assistance Experts will only assist the local engineer and customer representative on select aspects of system design that affect overall energy efficiency and performance. They will not actually design the system, stamp building plans, or replace the local engineer. Customers have total control over personnel decisions that affect their projects. The Design Assistance Expert will assist customers to "get up to speed" so that they can execute an outstanding green building design.
