SEDAC's new COVID-19 Readiness Building Assessments can help.
First, SEDAC will perform a risk assessment of the facility to identify which spaces are of particular concern and in need of attention. Then we'll assess your current HVAC system and identify measures to improve indoor air quality, enhance ventilation and introduce air filtering and cleaning to help your facility become more safe, healthy, and resilient long after the pandemic is ended. Because some of these measures are likely to increase energy use, we'll also consider the energy implications and identify ways to mitigate the energy increases and save energy in the long run.
What does a COVID-19 Readiness Assessment Entail?
Similar to SEDAC's energy assessments, our COVID-19 Readiness Assessments give you the independent, expert advice you need, with a focus on safety and health in response to COVID-19. They'll give you confidence to safely open when the time is right, knowing that your facility's HVAC system is not contributing to the problem.
This is a fee-for-service program, available to schools, universities, libraries, park districts, hospitals, non-profit and commercial buildings and more. Costs depend on facility size and services rendered. Contact us and we can develop a proposal to fit your needs and budget.

What will the accessment process look like?
Initial meeting to discuss client needs, plans, operations, and guidelines for safe facility operations, and to gather data about current operations and planned changes.
Benchmarking and baselining of building operations, occupancy patterns, air flows and energy use.
Facility walkthrough to assess spaces and critical HVAC equipment, such as outside air dampers, ventilation, HVAC fans, and building control systems.
Report will assess key areas of risk; recommend measures to mitigate risks and improve air quality, safety, and efficiency; and identify funding sources and incentives.
Optional: Implementation and validation support to ensure sure that measures are implemented correctly.
