Code Basics and Performance Path Reports, including Passive House; 2024 IECC

Join us for an in-person energy code training workshop at the Gateway Convention Center (1 Gateway Dr, Collinsville, IL 62234).

For those who may be newer to the code, this training will cover the basic layout and navigation of the 2021 IECC (including Illinois amendments), which became effective January 1, 2024. After establishing the primary sections and function of the code, we will cover the various compliance paths available. Due to a rising percentage of projects utilizing the performance compliance path under the 2021 IECC, we will review multiple performance reports to learn more about how they are created and how to evaluate them. We will also discuss some details of the Passive House compliance method, as it serves as an additional compliance path in Illinois. Additionally, this training will cover the forthcoming 2024 IECC with proposed Illinois Amendments, which is anticipated to become effective for permit applications dated December 1, 2025, or after.

This training event is offered in partnership with the Code Enforcement Officials of Southern Illinois (CEOSI) and will include lunch. There is a $50 cash fee to be collected by CEOSI to cover the room and food costs. Participants will receive a certificate of participation. This training is qualified for 6.0 LU|HSW through the AIA and 0.6 ICC CEUs.
