Navigating Energy Efficiency Funding Opportunities for Wastewater Facilities

Wastewater operators and facilities teams are always working to improve overall efficiency of treatment systems. However, funding can be a significant barrier to completing efficiency upgrades or retrofits. This session will review available utility incentives, grant programs and loan support opportunities in Illinois to help advance energy efficiency at wastewater facilities. We will also cover best practices to prepare for applying for various funding opportunities and how operators have leveraged various funding programs to implement energy efficiency projects at their facilities. We will wrap up the session with a Q&A for panelists and attendees.

Guest speakers will include Gabriela Martin, Program Director for Energy, Illinois Clean Energy Community Foundation, Gary Bingenheimer, Section Manager, Illinois EPA Revolving Loan Program and Michael Wallace, Community Programs Director, USDA Rural Development, Water and Wastewater Grant and Loan Program.

Attending operators and wastewater professionals can gain 1 CEU hour towards their operator certification or professional development credits. Certificates will be provided after the event to verify webinar participation.
