Phosphorous + Nitrogen Removal Strategies
Many wastewater treatment plant operators have told us that phosphorous and nitrogen regulations are becoming more prevalent for IEPA permitting. This webinar focuses on strategies to meet the changing requirements of P + N removal at WWTPs and how to implement those strategies through low-energy biological and chemical processes. Some existing strategies for removal include alternating aerobic, anoxic, and anaerobic zones in aeration basins, side-stream phosphorus removal through anaerobic mixing or chemical addition, and fixed-film low-energy technologies for nitrogen removal. There are a myriad of plant layouts to achieve these removal strategies. In this webinar, SEDAC focuses on the energy implications of these strategies and invites experienced engineers and operators to share their input.
